hanabee is a pseudonym for Aliza Nevarie.

I have been knitting on and off for 15 years, after teaching myself from the Reader’s Digest “Complete Guide To Needlework”. A limited text, but sufficent to learn the basics. It became an obsession when I joined Ravelry in 2008. Since then and directly through the amazing creativity and expertise of other knitters and designers on the site, I have expanded my knowledge enormously. I felt like a natural progression to begin designing myself.

I have designed a few patterns that have so far been for my own personal use and for private commissions. Recently, I have designed and produced some handknits for sale at Lark in Vancouver, a beautiful and elegant store that sells fine clothes and accessories. This has been a great honour for me and I thank Lark for the opportunity.
